Support the Reflection Tour to Rwanda – Summer 2026
In 2019, Building Bridges with Rwanda (BBR), Hogan’s Alley Society, and Simon Fraser University’s Institute for Black and African Diaspora Research and Engagement (BAIDRE) launched the Remember Rwanda 25 Legacy Project (RR25) — a powerful initiative created to honor the resilience of the Rwandan people and spark global dialogue on sustainable development, justice, and reconciliation.

The Remember Rwanda 25 Legacy Project (RR25)
Building Bridges Through Shared Stories
At the heart of RR25 are two key goals:
-
Leading Reflection Tours to Rwanda – immersive journeys that allow participants to experience Rwanda’s transformation firsthand.
-
Hosting biannual conferences – gatherings that highlight Rwanda’s remarkable progress and explore lessons for sustainable development worldwide.

Our Journey So Far
Get to Know Us
In the summer of 2022, Dr. June Francis and Lama Mugabo traveled to Kigali to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). Their journey deepened their understanding of Rwanda’s history, culture, and visionary development strategies — inspiring a documentary set to premiere during Black History Month 2026, telling the story of Rwanda’s rebirth.

THE 2026 REFLECTION TOUR
We’re preparing to send 12 college students and emerging community leaders to Rwanda in Summer 2026. Through this transformative experience, participants will learn directly from Rwandan communities about the nation’s journey from the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi to becoming one of Africa’s leading examples of peacebuilding and innovation.

Why Your Support Matters
The Reflection Tour to Rwanda is more than a trip — it’s an educational exchange that fosters empathy, leadership, and global citizenship.
